These images have been created without a camera; its starting point is celluloid that is later scanned. Through experimentation with form and an openness to chance, I explore a future composed of fragments of the past—much like life itself: a sequence of causes and effects where one thing cannot exist without the other. In this attempt to recognize and preserve analog photography, I propose a play with futuristic imaginaries. I seek to intertwine the analog and the digital within a single visual language, weaving a juxtaposition where both temporalities coexist without friction.
The scanner becomes a time machine: a device that, from the present, allows me to project possible futures. Within this hybrid space, where time and matter seem suspended, tensions emerge between the retro and the contemporary, questioning how we construct and perceive the temporal.
At the beginning of 2025, I collaborated with South African musician Shaun Theron to create a video composed of fragments of the creative process, accompanied by an original sound composition. This collaboration opens a new field where image and sound enhance one another, reinforcing ideas such as recycling error, inviting chance, and embracing improvisation as tools for imagining the future.
